KQLC-LP MUSIC FEST NEEDS YOUR TALENT! The Music Fest Talent Coordinator for this year is Ron Albright. Christian Music groups, whether local church praise teams, soloists, duos, quartets, etc. are invited to contact Ron to see if we can arrange a place for you on our stage under the big tent during the three hour period. Everyting is on the grounds of the radio station on FM 359 at Stenzel Road. We estimate that we can accomodate from 12 - 14 Christian Music groups during that period, 10-15 minutes each. We plan to set up two performance areas so one group can perform while another is setting up, speeding things along. We hope that a variety of churches representing different faith groups and different ethnic groups will be a part of this exciting event. It is a God-send to our station for Ron to volunteer for this big task, stepping into the shoes of John Boaz who coordinated the talent for our last Music Fest. Dottie Dumas 281-375-LOVE (5683) ch 281-934-2547 hm 713-569-0783 cell For Immediate Release FALL FESTIVAL BENEFITS FOOD PANTRIES The 2nd Annual Fall Festival hosted by the City of Brookshire and area churches will benefit the Brookshire-Pattison Food Pantry and the Food Pantry at Manna House/Titus Community which are available to the community. Though the event is free, participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item such as canned goods, especially fruit and soups, macaroni and cheese, pasta, peanut butter, rice, dried beans, etc. No dented or out of date items, please. Expanded this year, the event will take place not only in the City Convention Center, but also across the street in the Big Blue Tent. The City will block 5th Street at both ends so no automobile traffic will pass during the Festival, thus making it safe for our children to cross back and forth between activities. Awards Night 2007 Scholarships Royal High School Scholarships – At the May 17th, 2007 Awards Night, four Royal High School students were selected to receive $1,000 scholarships: Jessica Lynn Davis (represented by her Dad), Courtney Ivy, Cesar Robledo, Jr., and Logan Taylor Smith. Last year, Elise Dawson, Michael Wahoski, Alyssa McCue, and Courtney Wilder were awarded the scholarships in the program's first year.
